Cool Tool With a Cool Use(Mp3 Capture) - HarddiskOgg

Monday, May 30th, 2005

I don’t want to get into exactly what this tool “may or may not be used for” , but let’s just say that HarddiskOgg is a free tool that lets you capture any sound that play through your computer sound card or microphone. Here is a small screen shot of what it looks like:

It works better if you download and use the Lame Mp3 driver to go along with it…just paste it in the same folder as HarddiskOgg. You can also use this to capture streaming audio of a “work meeting” being broadcast or maybe if “your band” has an MP3,RealMedia, or Windows Media file that is playing off a site, you can capture the audio and save it as an Mp3 file.

This is one of those cool tools that “newbies” may not know of…I still consider myself a “newbie”, so I just watn to share this info with you.

I actually used this program to capture sound from my microphone that I used for a Macromedia Flash animation that I was working on. I can think of many great uses for this neat little tool.

Monday, May 30th, 2005

Someone sent me this imaged “reportedly” from Star Wars Episode III…could it be an intergalactic cross promotional plan? Who knows? Does Darth Vader even own an iPod? Did I ever tell you that Steve Jobs is my hero?

Can’t afford Audiostiles…Try Webjay

Monday, May 30th, 2005

Sure, you’ve heard of Audiostiles, the company that makes personal playlists at a $35/hour fee plus a $15 iTunes fee…If you are on a limited budget, you should head on over to WebJay.Org and take a look at some amateur Web Jay’s or DJ’s on the web. You can find some really great tracks compiled by fans of music. The best part is that most of the songs can also be downloaded for free at WebJay.

JBL - Home Audio

Saturday, May 7th, 2005

JBL - Home Audio If you want a powerful speaker set at low cost, think about getting the JBL On Stage for your iPod.
It costs between $130-150, but it offers great sound at a small price. This unit also serves as a full docking station and charger for you iPod. The sound isn’t as crisp as a home audio rack system, but it is portable and light weight. I was very impressed with the features…It could have used a remote control, but I guess they have to save some features for the upgraded model, right?

This product has been tested by the Mr. Slick Labs and
has been “certified”.
