As a BB salesman, I can tell you that you just need to upgrade your HDMI cable to one of better quality. Our Monster cables are more expensive than regular HDMI cables, but I am sure that it will fix your problem.

There are always two sides to every story. But, I do know that certain stors like Best Buy and Home Depot have gotten rid of people that know their business to hire cheaper, but un-knowing, sales help. This is really a shame for purchasers of products or equipment. Speaking of Home Depot...I don't have a problem with them I just remember the guy that was the CEO of Home Depot did that...but he's now gone...and they may have corrected that problem(he left with a huge multi-million dollar buyout.)

I took my wife to Best Buy to buy her a digital camera for her birthday. I told her the brand number(it was actually a Sony, too) but they had another on sale and the salesman talked my wife into buying it. I pulled her aside and tried to convince her he didn't know what he was talking about and that he would get a bigger commission, or however they handle things at Best Buy, for selling this particular camera that day. My wife is lovely but hard-headed. She had made (he had made up her mind)up her mind and wasn't about to change it and let me look like I knew more about it than her. My wife is very smart but I had researched the different cameras and knew what she had wanted and which one would deliver at the price my wife would allow me to spend on her(she's also a thrifty person...thank you Lord.) After two years she recently admitted to me she wishs she had listened to me and not the salesman.

That's my take on Best Buy...I did buy my mom a small TV for her room in a nursing home from Best Buy and when it quit working they exchanged it quickly without any argument...It didn't cost $3,600.00 though. I've not purchased anything from Best Buy since the camera although I' ve been in their stores several times. Most of Best Buy's people don't know what they are doing and are only interested in a pay check. Unfortunately...they are not the only company that has or creates that problem.

A lot of money for the TV but life is short...I'd move on and just never go into their stores again. You've cost them more money than a company with any sense would allow without taking care of the situation. Not just Best Buy but Sony, too. Sony could have brought pressure on Best Buy to correct the problem if they cared. Sony, like Honda in Japan, has gotten too big and arrogant. Yes, corporations do get arrogant.

Have you EVER worked retail? it is NOT that easy to fix. Stores have strict policies and procedures they have to deal with, especially Best Buy. When sold a TV on sale, the store makes pennies if anything at all, so your $3600 purchase means nothing to them. They made no profit as instead of buying the store's service plan (which is a much better value than the manufacturer's) your father bought the manufacturer's plan (bad move). Do your research first, learn how business is, and stop bitching about retail on the internet. If you're nice to us, we're nice to you. Otherwise you're basically screwed
